Spice Up Your Office Flooring!

To be able to work in an office setting doesn't necessarily mean you have to leave the comfort of your own home (or your pjs!). Nowadays, more people are working from home than ever before. If you've been considering an update to your office environment, first thing to look at is flooring.  It is a big change, but it is one of the most effective ways to transform the look and feel of your workspace.

Keep reading to find some of our favorite office flooring ideas for you to check out.

1. Hardwood

Hardwood tops the list due to its beauty, durability, and ability to add value to your home. Putting it in your home office leaves you lots of flexibility for change. While hardwood flooring can be pricey - it's definitely worth it. When properly installed, it can last for decades. If you decide you don't like the finish it can be sanded down and retained to update the look of your home.

For office flooring, it gives you an elegant setting and is easy to clean. Anything brought in on your client's shoes can be quickly washed away!

2.. Vinyl/Luxury Vinyl

Vinyl flooring has a bad reputation it doesn't deserve. Many people associate it with being of discount quality, but modern updates have made it every bit as attractive as true hardwoods.  Depending on the version you purchase, you can get vinyl that looks like hardwood, barn wood, tile, or any other material. It can be modified to be completely waterproof, sound dampening, and is extremely durable.  One of the best things about vinyl is how easy it is to install. There are varieties that actually click together and fit right into any size space.

3. Carpeting

Carpeting is the traditional option and for good reason. It's inexpensive, durable, and comes in a massive variety of styles.   If you see clients in your office, or have kids, you should definitely check out a stain resistant variety. You can choose from ultra-soft silk, hypoallergenic materials, or modern synthetics.  The sky is truly the limit with office carpet.

4. Cork

Cork is an environmentally friendly option and great for high traffic areas. It's been around for a long time but only recently has it come into vogue. It will give your home office a modern and unique appearance.

There are pros and cons to cork flooring, but we think the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Cork is a natural insulator and does a great job dampening sound and maintaining temperature. Plus, the harvesting process doesn't damage the cork trees, making it a renewable resource!

5. Other Office Flooring Ideas

If you don't like any of the options above, don't worry - there are tons more available! You can even get a waterproof version for an outdoor office or something more exotic. Tile is a classic choice that has a lot going for it. It's classy, durable, and completely waterproof when properly installed. You can also go with a nice area rug to accent a particular space in your office.

Many people underestimate the effect new flooring can have on your workspace. It's literally the floor under your feet.  Therefore, choosing the best office flooring options can certainly update your office's appearance and create a positive mindset the moment you step foot into your office.  Better mindset - better productivity!
